Tribunes up 21 heading into final day
CHAUTAUQUA, NY - The MCC golf team maintained its hold on first place Thursday, firing a team score of 298 to take a 21-stroke lead into the final 18 holes of the NJCAA Division III national tournament at Chautauqua GC.
The Tribunes have a three-day total of 875 (+11). Burlington County College shot a 296 Thursday and are in second with an 896 (+32), while Rochester Community and Technical College is third at 898 (+34).
Chris Malec (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) held on to the overall lead for the Tribunes. He is still ay 7-under after firing an even-par 72 Thursday. Taylor Page (Holley, NY/Holley) shot a 75 and is at even par for the tournament.
Tyler Phillips (Williamson, NY/Williamson) had a strong round, finishing at 73 for Monroe. Ben Finn (Gananda, NY/Gananda) rounded out the scoring with a 78, while Jordan Wilson (Phelps, NY/Midlakes) shot a 79.
