Belin signs with St. Peter's
ROCHESTER - MCC men's basketball player Jeron Belin (Meriden, CT/Maloney) will continue his basketball career at Division I St. Peter's College in Jersey City, NJ.
Belin helped lead the Tribunes to a 30-7 record and a sixth-place finish at the NJCAA Division II national tournament. He was named a first team All-American, the NJCAA Region III, Division II Player of the Year and the Basketball Coaches Association of New York Player of the Year.
Belin averaged 14.3 points and 6.1 rebounds in 36 games played last season, shooting 54.5 percent from the field.
He led the Tribunes in scoring in 14 games last year, including a season-high 28 against Genesee CC on Feb. 3. He also had a stretch of four consecutive games with a double-double.
Belin is the second MCC player to sign at a DI college in the last two weeks. Sophomore Kareem Brown (New London, CT/New London) will play at Coppin State next year.
